Governor of Arizona, April 5, 1877-October 5, 1878, Hoyt originally went to the Territory in 1876, as Secretary. His dictation is a general commentary on Arizona affairs since the organization of the Territory in 1863, with interjections by a Mr. Lewis, present at the interview.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
